VoxTexto.Fast or Higher accuracy: choosing a mode
We compare both modes on the same voice and a noisy copy. Choose based on the result, waiting time and your device's resources.
What changes?
Fast uses Whisper Base; Higher accuracy uses Whisper Small. Both run locally. Small has more parameters and requires a larger download and more memory. The option's name does not guarantee that every word improves.
Results from one concrete test
The table preserves unedited outputs, including mistakes. The Spanish transcripts are not translated when you switch the website language.

How we ran the comparison
We used the same 8.4-second Spanish reading and a derived copy with deterministic artificial white noise. Both modes ran on CPU, with Spanish selected manually and speech detection enabled. We first warmed each model's browser cache. Each measured run starts a new recognition worker and includes initialization and inference, but avoids the first large download. Times are observations on one computer, not promised processing speeds.

When to start with Fast
Use it for a first check on a limited device or clear speech you can review. Before processing a full hour, try a representative one- or two-minute clip. Check important names and numbers: finishing sooner does not compensate for an incorrect statement.
When to try Higher accuracy
Try Small on a short passage if Base changes expressions, omits words or misses a name. Let the first download finish and avoid locking the device. If the browser closes or runs out of memory, return to Fast, shorten the recording or try CPU mode.
Limits of this comparison
It uses one voice and one short sentence. Noise was added in software, not recorded on a street. We did not evaluate all accents, languages, meetings or phones and do not claim a general accuracy percentage. Listen to the audio and reviewed reference to assess this case yourself.
